I use my skills, spanning the intersection between design and engineering, to mitigate risk, create flexible and scalable design systems and build intuitive and engaging experiences.
Experience
Designer and former engineer with nearly two years of experience in UI design and 6+ years in frontend development. Working in design and engineering, at startups as well as small teams within bigger companies, has allowed me to develop a wide range of multi-disciplinary skills in diverse contexts. I work on detailed UI designs to complement the wider user journey and build design systems that drive reusability and consistency.
My experience as an engineer allows me to understand the technical implications of my design decisions. I can translate design concepts into interactive prototypes to test ideas or collaborate with engineering teams to bring designs to life. Experience working on a design system as both a frontend engineer and a designer has given me a unique insight into the challenges of creating and maintaining design systems from both perspectives.

UI Designer
Started at 7bridges as a junior UI designer and progressed to a mid-level role in just over a year. 7bridges offers a data-driven, web-based platform for analysis, optimisation and execution of supply chains.
Work daily in Figma on detailed UI designs to complement the wider user journey. Build and maintain a design system that drives reusability and consistency across the platform. Use HTML and CSS to ideate and prototype interactions. Own the QA of the platform interface - reviewing new UI features to ensure they adhere to our design standards. Work closely with our engineers to ensure successful implementation of designs and prototypes, as well as working together on solutions for existing usability issues. Collaborate with other designers, product managers and engineers to understand user needs, ideate on possible solutions and deliver those to our customers in the form of innovative features and intuitive interfaces.

Worked in a cross-functional team responsible for improving the direct borrower instant decision product and onboarding new segments onto the new platform. Contributed to the building and maintenance of our design system from a frontend perspective. Worked in a data-driven, experimentation-led, growth team, focussed on building out and testing features designed to improve the experience for new and returning users.
